Trishund Mayureshwara Ganapati temple in Pune

visited on: 8th feb, 2024

An ornate, pretty and unique temple in the heart of Pune, the mandir is surrounded closely by residences and has no compound of its own.

The temple was open even in the afternoon and there was no priest at that hour. The Ganapati murthi has three trunks, six hands and seated on a peacock. The garbha gruha has a glass window in place of a door, making darshan easy for everyone who arrives after pooja time. Behind Ganapati-ji is Vishnu-ji reclining and Laxmi-ji right there.

The roof of the garbha gruha, of the immediate sanctum outside of it and of another sanctum you first enter into - all have a dome-shape with intricate carvings and one chandelier like carving right in their middle. The outer walls too have lovely carvings. The outer walls look pink and everything inside the temple is of black stone.
