frantically speaking

watching you laugh and softly talk
and the chirpy cheer you inevitably spread
is like watching a baker hide his glee
at the gladdening odour of fresh baked bread

i frantically steal glances to catch you smile
and lurch when the aura around you i see
i realise i've forgotten my troubles for a while
i'm still smiling to myself as you walk past me

* for ThreeWordWednesday prompts: frantic, lurch, odour

I loved this...it actually made me think of how I feel when I'm around my daughter. Such a joyful emotion, even though you may have meant for this to be more about romance. Hope you don't mind that I may have interpreted your words in a different direction! What a wonderful read.
